Our team will guide you through your personalized preparation plan, but the following recommendations are standard for most Venus Velocity™ treatments.
Before Your Treatment
To prepare the treatment area:
• Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment
• Avoid waxing, tweezing, threading, or electrolysis for 3–4 weeks prior
• Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment
• Avoid applying lotions, oils, deodorant, or makeup on the treatment area the day of treatment
• Inform your provider if you are taking medications that may increase photosensitivity
Shaving is recommended because it allows the laser to target the follicle directly without surface hair interfering with the treatment.
After Your Treatment
Immediately following treatment, mild redness or warmth in the skin may occur. This typically resolves within several hours.
For optimal recovery:
• Avoid hot showers, saunas, or intense workouts for 24 hours
• Avoid direct sun exposure for 7–10 days
• Apply broad-spectrum SPF daily to protect the skin
• Avoid exfoliation, retinoids, or harsh skincare products for 48 hours
• Continue shaving between sessions if needed — avoid waxing or tweezing
Hair may appear to grow after treatment, but this is often shedding of treated follicles, which will naturally fall out over the following weeks.
